Buying and Selling Guide
Buyers Guide
- Viewing is on day of sale from 1pm
- Buyers should register at the main office and receive a bidding number prior to start of sale.
- Bidding at the sale should be by a clear wave of your hand or bid number.
- A Buyers Premium of 15%+VAT is charged on the hammer price.
- Commission Bids may be left at the Main Office on the correct forms, carefully showing lot number, description and bid price. The auctioneer will then bid on your behalf not exceeding the maximum level of your bid. This service is given on a courtesy but no responsibility basis.
- All goods are sold with no warranty and become the responsibility of the buyer on fall of the hammer.
- Buyers are assumed to have carefully viewed potential purchases before the sale.
- Purchasers must be paid for at the Main Office where a receipt and collection pass will be issued.
- Payment by switch is welcomed. Payments by mastercard/visa will be accepted up to £500. For mastercard/visa purchases above £500 please see cashier before the sale.
- Customers are asked to make every reasonable effort to collect all purchases on the evening of sale. Where this is not possible, arrangements for overnight storage must be made with the Head Porter (or main office for successful commission bids).
- Storage charges may become payable on goods not removed by 4pm on day after sale. TSA can provide a low cost delivery service for £40 (Vat inclusive) per hour for Van and two porters, and this is available by arrangement with the Head Porter.
- Where the Head Porter has no arrangements for collection of purchases, goods could be re-entered for sale at the next auction with no reserve, whether or not the buyer has completed payment to TSA. The original buyer will still be responsible for any shortfall between original bid price and new bid price.
- TSA Staff are there to assist, advise and be helpful so please ask. Our aim is to provide a quality service to both buyer and seller. If you have a complaint or suggestion for improvement please contact us.
- All sales are conducted under our General Conditions of Sale.
