Based at our North Street premises in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotch Premier Meat
Ltd is Scotland’s leading red meat company specialising in the supply of high
quality beef, lamb and pork to high-class retail butchers and discerning hotels and
restaurants throughout the UK.
Scotland is the home of quality beef and Scotch Premier, produced naturally in
Scotland’s beautiful hills and glens, has long been recognised as the “creme de la
creme”.

Scotch Premier is a recognised brand synonymous with quality, backed up at
retail level by a range of attractive point-of-sale promotional material.
The company enjoys the prestige of a Royal Warrant as suppliers of
beef and lamb to Her Majesty The Queen.

Unique Blend
The natural environment of the Scottish countryside provides that extra special ingredient which gives Scotch Premier beef its unique blend of succulence, flavour and tenderness.
All farmers supplying stock to Scotch Premier are required to conform to exacting animal welfare, husbandry and management standards, including membership of Quality Meat Scotland’s Farm Assurance Scheme.
Quality Control
Careful handling on the farm is continued at Scotch Premier’s two modern,
EU-approved plants for the processing of Beef and Pork at Inverurie, Aberdeenshire,
where a continued programme of investment in plant and machinery, embracing the
latest technology, coupled with a comprehensive on-going staff training programme,
has enabled both plants to meet the highest ISO 9002 standard.
However, our procedures for rigorous quality control and quality assurance go far
beyond statutory requirements in the pursuit of our objectives. Membership of the
Guild of Scotch Quality Meat Suppliers demands regular independent inspection and
adherence to the highest standards in the handling and preparation of meat.
The correct handling of meat at all stages is of vital importance in ensuring the
superior eating quality for which Scotch Premier beef is renowned. Meat has to be
treated like fine wine to enhance eating quality and this is achieved by slow
chilling and hanging for at least two weeks under controlled conditions.
Highland Lamb
Scotch Premier Meat has recently launched a new Highland Lamb brand, to complement the Scotch Premier beef brand, following the acquisition of the Dornoch abattoir in Sutherland. You can read more about it at our Royal Dornoch page here
High Street Butchers
Every day of the week, Scotch Premier’s dedicated
fleet of refrigerated vehicles, with their distinctive livery depicting
the lush pastures of Aberdeenshire and its highest hill, Bennachie,
set out from Inverurie to make deliveries to quality High Street butchers
and top hotels and restaurants from Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
