80% Usage Rules, IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE ABOVE Leaflet 12
Addendum:
Section 2.1 of Information Leaflet 12 advises you when you sell entitlements without land you must meet specific usage rules. It explains that you must have " activated at least 80% of them ( that means you have claimed payment on them, and you have met the conditions of the scheme to be paid on them )"

Please note when calculating the usage, you must have used at least 80% of the entitlements during at least one calendar year.
For Example:
If you held 100 standard entitlements and used 70 of them in 2005, and 70 in 2006, you cannot transfer them as they have not used at least 80% in one calandar year

If you held 100 standard entitlements and used 80 of them in 2005, and 20 in 2006, you have used 80% in at least one calendar year so you can now transfer them.

If you held 100 standard entitlements and used 20 of them in 2005, and 80 in 2006, you have used 80% in at least one calendar year so you can now transfer them.

A total of 3195.17 hectare units of standard entitlements were forward, selling to a top price of £1035 per unit for ten units valued at €496.40.  Also on offer were 80.82 hectare units of set aside entitlements which achieved a top price of £365 per unit for 4.16 units valued at €342.10.

With 58 people logged on, eBid@liveauction the remote bidding system experienced its highest ever volume of traffic for a SFP entitlement sale, and 27 out of the 50 lots sold were bought this method.

Commenting on the company’s first SFP sale of 2007, Aberdeen & Northern Marts’ general manager John Gregor said: “Standard entitlements saw a large range from 1.6 to 3.1 times their value, with clear strong demand for higher value entitlements.  The majority of those standard entitlements valued at over €250 sold for between 2.6 and 3.1 times their value.

“The sale included a large quantity of lower value standard entitlements valued at just under €19 and these sold for £20 per unit, or 1.6 times their value.”

Mr Gregor added: “ eBid@liveauction has now firmly established its place in these sales and today’s number of participants was the highest yet.

“Looking to our next sale on Friday, February 2nd we already have 15 lots instructed so we anticipate another strong auction.”

Entries for the next sale close at 12noon on Monday, January 29th.  For further information on Single Farm Payment entitlement auctions or on eBid@liveauction, call Alan Donald on (01467) 623753 or email alan.donald@goanm.co.uk

2nd SFP Entitlements Auction - Friday 2nd February 2007

A total of 3151.44 hectare units of standard entitlements were forward and the top price was paid for an unusually high value lot which realised £4,350 for 1.09 hectare units with an established value of €2153.310. The 145.01 hectare units of set aside entitlements on offer achieved a top price of £390 for 5.50 hectare units with an established value of €342.210.

Some 51 people logged on to use the eBid@liveauction remote bidding system, and 33 out of a total of 57 lots were sold using this method.

Commenting on the sale, Aberdeen & Northern Marts’ general manager John Gregor said: “With the majority of standard entitlements making over three times their value, we again saw an excellent trade at our sale. Standard entitlements sold for between 2.27 and 3.45 times their established value and set aside entitlements also saw very good trade at 1.27 to 1.68 times their established value.”

He added: “Clearly there is still considerable demand for entitlements and we anticipate the buoyant trade to continue.”

3rd SFP Entitlements Auction - Friday 16th February 2007

Standard Single Farm Payment entitlements met a flying trade at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie today (February 16th) during an auction held by Aberdeen & Northern Marts.

Set aside entitlements were harder to sell, reaching a top price of £330 for six hectare units with an established value of €338.360, but almost all standard entitlements reached at least three times their established value. The top price of the day was £2,200 for 42.37 hectare units with an established value of €912.110.

Commenting on the sale, Aberdeen & Northern Marts’ Single Farm Payment sale administrator Alan Donald said: “Whilst the trade for set aside entitlements was much stiffer, the hectare units that did sell all exceeded their established value. Standard entitlements, on the other hand, were very much in demand and sold at between 2.84 and 3.64 times their established value.”

Mr Donald added: “Our remote bidding system eBid @ live auction again played an important role in the sale with 39 people logged on.”

Aberdeen & Northern Marts will hold another auction of Single Farm Payment entitlements at 2pm on Friday, March 2nd and entries for the sale close at 12noon on Monday, February 26th.

For further information on the sale, or to find out more about eBid @ live auction, contact Alan Donald at alan.donald@goanm.co.uk or on (01467) 623753.

5th and Final SFP Entitlements Auction - Friday 16th March 2007

There was good trade at Aberdeen & Northern Marts’ final sale of the season at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie today (Friday, March 16th).

With 36 people logged on to the eBid @ liveauction remote bidding system, the majority of standard entitlements again realised between 3 to 3.5 times their established value, selling to a top price of £ 2,250.00 for 5.00 hectare units with an established value of € 946.46.

Set aside entitlements saw an increased demand, realising 1.4 to 1.6 times their established value and the top price was £370.00 for 19.44 hectare units with an established value of € 342.20.

Brian Pack, chief Executive of ANM Group, said “the sale attracted the attention of the media and many not involved in agriculture due to some misleading claims by a London based group, Open Europe, who claim to be a Eurosceptic think tank. They claimed that its head of research had attended one of our earlier sales and, as a non-farmer, had purchased 1.43 hectares of set-aside entitlement. The reality is that they acted as an agent for a registered farmer bidder with a farm code number and (farm) business reference number – essential preconditions for a buyer of entitlement.
The set-aside entitlement has been transferred to the farmer for whom the researcher acted as agent – let us hope that he has land eligible for set-aside.

”Whilst this is the final live auction of the current season, online auctions and private trading will continue for a further week. Contact Alan Donald on 01467623753 or at our Website on www.goanm.co.uk/sfp.
