Over 1,000 Store Cattle Forward For Thainstone Special Sale
Over 1,000 store cattle will head for Thainstone Centre tomorrow (Wednesday).
With a show and sale of grazing store cattle and the spring sale of organic store cattle, it looks set to be a busy day at the Centre. The show and sale will be sponsored by Panaeu Bolus of Intervet Shering Plough Animal Health in association with stocking agents Towns and Carnie.
Over 250 certified Organic cattle will be forward. 2008 saw the inaugural spring and autumn sales of Organic stock held at Thainstone and this sale follows the success of those events.
John Angus, store and breeding cattle manager for Aberdeen & Northern Marts commented: “The show and sale of store cattle will see entries from some of the leading consignors in the area with an excellent selection of grazing types and the organic sale has again attracted much interest from across the area.”
The sale will commence at 10am with over 250 organic store cattle followed by the show and sale of grazing store cattle at approximately 11.30am. The show will begin at 10am.

The show was judged by Mr W Cameron, Burnside of Edingight, Grange, Keith
The winning animal was a 568kg Belgian Blue cross steer which sold for £1,000 to Mr Cameron.

We will have the usual annual consignments forward from respected local breeders and this, coupled with the success of our March show and sale, should generate strong interest and demand.”
