THAINSTONE SET FOR NEW SEASON OF SFP ENTITLEMENT SALES

Aberdeen & Northern Marts has announced plans for a new season of Single Farm Payment (SFP) entitlement sales starting on Friday, January 18, 2008.

The 2008 series of sales will once again be conducted using ANM Group’s innovative national auction system which is widely recognised as the barometer for establishing prices.

At the beginning of 2007 more than 15,000 hectare units were sold using a combination of live bidding and the ANM Group Ltd’s state-of-the-art remote bidding system, eBid @ live auction.

John Gregor, Aberdeen & Northern Marts’ general manager said: “I expect to see confidence in the market for SFP with the recent Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) health checks reinforcing the payment system until 2013.

“The use of eBid @ live auction is an integral part of the ongoing success, meaning that bidding can take place from anywhere across the country removing the necessity for bidders to attend in person.”

Mr Gregor added: “Given the success of sales in the last couple of years, we anticipate strong interest in 2008 and I would urge both buyers and sellers to register an interest now.”

Entries for the first SFP entitlement sale of 2008 close at noon on Monday, January 14.

For further information or to register an interest, call Alan Donald on (01467) 623753 or visit www.goanm.co.uk/sfp.
