FIRST MINISTER TO OPEN 2007 CHRISTMAS CARCASE SHOW

Scotland’s First Minister and Gordon MSP Alex Salmond is to officially open this year’s Christmas carcase show at Scotch Premier Meat Ltd in Inverurie on Monday, December 3rd.

This prestigious annual event attracts entries from many of the region’s top beef, lamb and pork producers and is attended by leading high street butchers and caterers from throughout the UK.

Judging this year’s event are Alan Healy of Aubrey Allen Ltd, Canley, Coventry and Bill Dye of Scotts Butchers, Carshalton, Surrey.

Many of them will stay on for the 2007 Aberdeen Christmas Classic – Scotland’s premier two-day winter farming event – which takes place at Thainstone Centre on Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 4th. Bank of Scotland Corporate heads the list of local and national sponsors.

Commenting on the event, First Minister Alex Salmond said: “This event provides a great opportunity for the finest meat in the region to be showcased to the general public. It is an honour to be asked to officially open the 2007 Scotch Premier Christmas Carcase Show.”
