8th October - DRAGONS AND WIZARDS SET TO DESCEND ON THAINSTONE EXCHANGE

 

Thainstone Specialist Auctions are gearing up for the auction of more than 250 unusual lots next week

On Tuesday, October 9th Marilyn Monroe will feature alongside dragons, Harley Davidson memorabilia and signed platinum music discs at the rare event which is expected to attract interest from around the country due to its variety and scale.

The collection is being sold on behalf of Jed Done from Aberdeen due to relocation.

Thainstone EXCHANGE will be the setting for the sale which will include many items of memorabilia from the popular Enchantica fantasy range. With a variety of pieces ranging in size and depicting subjects such as dragons and wizards. Also going under the hammer will be a selection of rare, one-off artists' proofs from the Enchantica.

Adding to the variety will be a considerable number of Lord of the Rings pieces as well as Harley Davidson merchandise including World War One lighters. Gold and platinum music discs - some of which are signed - will also go under the hammer as well as a range of film memorabilia including a photograph of Marilyn Monroe which comes with a swatch of the stockings she is wearing in the picture and a letter of authenticity from her sister.

Also taking place on the day will be the sale of a collection of football programmes and memorabilia, mainly featuring programmes of Aberdeen FC games but also including a few items relating to Scotland's adventures in the international game.

Commenting on the event, Greg MacGillivray of Thainstone Specialist Auctions said: "This is one of the most unusual and varied collections we have ever dealt with and the auction is likely to attract a huge amount of interest due to the large number of rare items it includes."
