| 2nd November 2006 - Farmers' event to give insight into RNCI work |
| 02/11/06 - Farmers’ Event To Give Insight Into RNCI Work Issued by the ANM Group Ltd on behalf of the RNCI
The Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI) is inviting farmers from throughout the North east to find out more about the organisation’s work.
Aimed at updating those already involved, and encouraging new farmers to get involved an information event is to take place at Williamson’s Garden & Machinery Centre, Forglen, Turriff on Thursday, November 16th.
As well as a welcome and introduction to the RNCI from chairperson Alyson Hunter, visitors will also have the opportunity to hear about resources available for farm visits and classroom talks, including the Countryside Classroom on Wheels (CCOW) which brings the farming experience to life in the playground.
Curriculum updates will be provided by Alison Motion from the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) and there will also be the chance to hear the history of the host venue thanks to a presentation by Jim Williamson of Williamson’s Garden & Machinery Centre.
“This event will provide valuable updates for our existing volunteer farmers, making sure that they are aware of all the resources we have that can help enhance both their experience, and that of the schoolchildren involved in any visit,” explained RNCI project officer Sheila Stuart.
“In addition, we hope to welcome farmers who would like to find out more about RNCI with a view to getting involved. The volume of requests for farm visits and CCOW visits in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray is continually increasing and we would be delighted to meet anyone who would be willing to help us promote awareness of the countryside using their experience and expertise in agriculture.”
The event will begin at 7pm and further information is available from Sheila Stuart on (01261) 842214. |
