Final Antiques sale of the year

Around 1,000 lots of antiques, furniture and collectables will be offered for sale at Thainstone EXCHANGE next Wednesday (November 30th).

The event is being run by Thainstone Specialist Auctions (TSA) and it will feature an array of items from tables to tapestries and coins to coats. Among the numerous notable items on offer are a set of 1950s Christmas crackers, a Victorian overmantle, and various advertising signs and mirrors from days gone by.

The extensive china and porcelain section will feature pieces by a wide range of well known producers such as Clarice Cliff, Coalport, Delft, Royal Doulton, Poole and Wedgewood.

Commenting on TSA’s final antiques sale of 2005, Zandra Black said: “This sale will finish the year as we began with a busy auction featuring something for everyone. We anticipate a large turnout of bidders, many of whom will be looking out for that ideal Christmas present.”
Viewing takes place on Tuesday (November 29th) between 5pm and 8pm and on the day of the sale from 9am. The sale itself begins at 1pm on Wednesday, November 30th.

Money, Money, Money!

An extensive collection of coins and bank notes is currently being offered for sale by Thainstone Specialist Auctions (TSA).

The online auction of more than 470 lots at www.goanm.co.uk features an array of Roman, British, world and miscellaneous coins and banknotes which are being sold on behalf of a private collector.

Roman coins from the reigns of well known figures such as Augustus, Caligula, Hadrian, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony will feature alongside a wide range of British coins dating from 1247 to 1993.

In addition there will be a range of currency from across the globe, including British Guiana, Fiji, the Marshall Islands, Sierra Leone and Zambia.

Commenting on the sale, Zandra Black of TSA said: “It is very unusual for us to be asked to sell such an extensive selection of coins and bank notes and the online auction has attracted a lot of interest, particularly for some of the older Roman coins.”

Online auction administrator Alan Donald added: “This auction really seems to have captured the imagination of bidders and I would anticipate that bidding will become fast and furious as next week’s deadline approaches.”

The online auction closes at 12noon next Wednesday (November 30th).
