Sale attracts lots from throughout UK

Bidders from as far afield as Cheshire, Lancashire, Sutherland and the Highlands converged on Thainstone Centre, Inverurie on Saturday (August 13th) for Thainstone Specialist Auctions’ sixth annual sale of Border Fine Arts.

The auction attracted 250 lots from around the country, with 100 people registering to take part in the sale by bidding at the ringside or by using the ANM Group Ltd’s popular state-of-the-art remote bidding system, eBid @ live auction which allows bids to be made in a live sale from the convenience of any home or office computer.


Topping the 250 lots which went under the hammer was a piece entitled: “The Fergie” which sold for £1,820. “Market Day” achieved £1,200 whilst a 1977 tawny owl by Victor Hayton made £280.

Commenting on the sale, Zandra Black of Thainstone Specialist Auctions said: “In spite of the current market, we were very encouraged by the level of interest we received for this year’s sale.”

Sale attracts lots from throughout UK

Some 250 pieces of Border Fine Arts will be put under the hammer at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie on Saturday, August 13th.

Thainstone Specialist Auctions’ sixth annual sale of the popular collectables has again attracted entries from all over the UK including Essex, West Yorkshire, Cheshire, Sussex and the Highlands.

And as well as bidding in person at the auction, members of the public will also have the chance to bid for a selection of lots using the ANM Group Ltd’s state-of-the-art remote bidding system, eBid @ live auction which allows participation in an auction from any computer with internet access.

Commenting on the sale, Zandra Black of Thainstone Specialist Auctions said: “We have a well balanced sale with pieces to cater for every budget. We have the usual tractor and farming life pieces, and humorous and nostalgic scenes as well as wildlife and fairies.”

Older pieces which will be offered for sale include the Tawny Owl 031, Red Squirrel 187, Lurcher EW1, Greyhounds Coursing EW2 and Long Tailed Field Mouse and Family L13.

Viewing takes place from 9am on the day with the auction to get underway in Thainstone Centre’s ring two at 11am.
