PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (28th January) 131 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (42) averaged 161.8p (-6.8p) and sold to 172p per kg for a 600kg British Blue from Tormiston Farm, Stenness, and for a 635kg Limousin from Hillside Farm, Dufftown, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,357.20 gross for a 870kg Charolais from Mains of Kinmundy, Kingswells, and purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen.
Prime heifers (43) averaged 159.6p (-5.8p) and sold to 179p per kg, and £1,253 gross for a 700kg Charolais from Cullaird Farm, Scaniport, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (14) averaged 137p (nc) and sold to 161p per kg for a 735kg Blonde D’aquitaine from Freefield House, Old Rayne, and £1,222.65 gross for a 1045kg Charolais from Harestone, Crathes.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (10) averaged 139.7p (-7.2p) and sold to 159p per kg for a 595kg British Blue from Dunscroft, Huntly and £1,459.50 gross for a 1050kg Charolais from Moss-side of Gight, Fyvie.
Heifers (22) averaged 144.2p (-8.9p) and sold to 155p per kg for a 620 kg Shorthorn from Redland, Stromness, for a 750kg Charolais from Darnford, Durris, and for a 680kg Simmental from Caiesmill, Kinellar, and £1,162.50 gross for a 750kg Charolais from Darnford, Durris.
