THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (14th January) 97 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (41) averaged 166.5p (-6.1p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 665kg Charolais from Whitehouse Farm, Lumphanan, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,590.80 gross for a 970kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm, Torphins.
Prime heifers (34) averaged 165.5p (-4.9p) and sold to 180p per kg for a 510kg Limousin from Whitehouse Farm, and purchased by West End Butchers, Peterhead, and £1,444.20 gross for a 830kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (two) averaged 136.3p (no comp) and sold to 157p per kg, and £1,106.85 gross for a 705kg British Blue from Mosside of Gight, Fyvie.
Heifers (19) averaged 158.2p (+0.7) and sold to 178p per kg for a 700kg British Blue, and £1,384.60 gross for a 860kg Aberdeen-Angus from Mosside of Gight.
Bulls (one) sold to 153p per kg and £1,109.25 gross for a 725kg Charolais from Berrytop, Netherley.
