PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (13th May) 99 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (39) averaged 154.9p (+2.2p) and sold to 169p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Whitehouse Farm, Lumphanan, and £1,262.25 gross for a 825kg Charolais from Redhill, Rothiemay.
Prime heifers (30) averaged 160.4p (-0.4p) and sold to 169p per kg for a 490kg Charolais purchased by A W Herd and Sons Limited, Aberdeen, and for a 500kg Limousin, purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries, both from Blairshinnoch Farms, Banff, and £1,124.70 gross for a 690kg Charolais from Lescraigie, Turriff, and purchased by Woodhead Bros.
Young bulls (two) averaged 119.9p (+0.7p) and sold to 125p per kg and £1,050 gross for a 840kg Saler from North Bethelnie, Oldmeldrum.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (22) averaged 142p (-7.5p) and sold to 151p per kg for a 700kg Charolais from Mill of Meadaple, Rothienorman, and £1,284.80 gross for a 880kg Charolais from Castlehill, Cuminestown.
Heifers (six) averaged 127.5p (-7.1p) and sold to 141p per kg for a 675kg Limousin from North Bethelnie and £999 gross for a 740kg Simmental from Finzean Estate, Finzean.
