THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (6th May) 98 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (30) averaged 152.7p (-4.7p) and sold to 164p per kg for a 680kg Limousin from Faichfolds, King Edward, and purchased by W Cameron, also 164p per kg and £1,246.40 gross for a 760kg Charolais from Middleton of Troup, Gamrie,
Prime heifers (40) averaged 160.8p (+0.1p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 545kg British Blue from Wrangham, Colpy, and £1,196.25 gross for a 725kg Aberdeen-Angus from Freefield House, Old Rayne, and both purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries
Young bulls (three) averaged 119.2p (nc) and sold to 129p per kg for a 815kg Charolais from Deskie Farm, Glenlivet, and £1,260 gross for a 1,050kg Charolais from Airdlin Mains, Ythanbank.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (two) averaged 149.5p (+7.4p) and sold to 150p per kg for a 740kg Limousin from Broomhill Farm, Dunecht, and £1,124.95 gross for a 755kg British Blue from Harestone, Crathes.
Heifers (23) averaged 134.6p (-6.0p) and sold to 158p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Waterton, Insch, and £996.60 gross for a 670kg Charolais from Mill of Buckie, Buckie.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (6th May) sold 2385 prime sheep.
New season lambs (94) averaged 207.3p per kg (+16.6p) and sold to 255.3p per kg and £120 gross for 47kg Suffolks from Davishill, Udny.
Old season lambs (2291) averaged 189.5p per kg (+6.5p) and sold to 203.7p per kg for 40kg Texels from Whitecairns Croft, New Deer and £96.50 gross for 60kg Suffolks from Cullisse, Nigg.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (25) averaged 216.9p per kg.
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (1793) averaged 193.7p per kg (+6.4p).
Aberdeen and Northern Marts held their annual show and sale of Suffolk lambs in conjunction with the North East of Scotland Suffolk Sheep Club.
There were 31 pairs forward with Gordon Hossack of Woodhead Brothers, Turriff as the Judge.
Champion pen of lambs was awarded to H. Stuart & Son, Davishill,Udny for a pair of 47kg pure bred Suffolk’s realising £120 per head and 255.3p per kg.
Reserve pen was a pair of 42kg pure bred Suffolk’s from J & G Crow, West Blairbowie, Pitcaple which realised £100 per head.
