STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (11th June) sold 267 store cattle and five young calves.

Bullocks (159) averaged 184.3p (-0.7p) and sold to 240.5p per kg for a pair 262kg Charolais crosses from Stonebriggs, Rosehearty and £1190 gross for 732kg Charolais from Milton of Finnercy, Echt.
Heifers (95) averaged 169.1p (-3.8p) and sold to 236.5p per kg for a pen 148kg Charolais from Little Millbrex, Fyvie and £1050 gross for a 650kg Charolais from Greystone, Fisherford.
Bulls (13) averaged 153.5p (+3.2) and sold to198p per kg for a pair of 250kg Charolais from Mansefield, Inverkeithny and £715 gross for 564kg Limousin from Upper Mossend, Hatton.
Young and weaned calves (five) averaged £275 gross.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (11th June) sold 1,837 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.

Store lambs (411) to £74.50 for Continentals from Littlemill, Rothienorman.
Ewe lambs (five) to £70 for Texels from Ledmacoy, Strathdon.
Ewes and lambs (787) to £79 for Mule hoggs with single lambs at foot from Bogiebrae, Rhynie.
Feeding ewes (634) averaged £64.72 (-£8.68) to £133 for Suffolks from Skilmafilly, Auchnagatt.

“An end of season show of ewes with lambs again met a very sound trade. Feeding ewes were also a mixed entry but were slightly easier. “
