STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (4th June) sold 326 store cattle and three young calves.

Bullocks (182) averaged 185p (+5.1p) and sold to 227p per kg for 304kg Charolais crosses from Boig, Tarland and £1,070 gross for a 693kg Limousin cross from Rhevackin, Kiltarlity.

Heifers (119) averaged 172.9p (+4.5p) and sold to 210.1p per kg for 426kg Limousin crosses from Boig, Tarland and £950 gross for 562kg Limousin crosses from Oldmill, Strichen.

Bulls (25) averaged 150.3p (+10.1p) and sold to 216.8p per kg for 226kg Charolais from Kinclune, Glenkindie and £700 gross for 458kg Limousin crosses from Branchill Farm, Dallas.

Young and weaned calves (three) averaged £305 and sold to £350 gross.

"A useful selection was forward and were very easily cashed".

STORE, BREEDING and FEEDING SHEEP - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (4th June) sold 1,787 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.

Ewes with lambs at foot (906) to £82 for Mule Hoggs with single lambs at foot from Bogiebrae, Rhynie.
Old season lambs (195) to £98 a Texel ewe lamb from Daisybank, Deerness.
Feeding ewes (686) averaged £73.40 (+ £12.95) to £143 for Suffolks from Lower House, Hillwell.

"Ewes and lambs at foot met an excellent trade. A good show of feeding ewes were dearer, resulting in the highest average of recent weeks."
