PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (1st July) sold 144 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (40) averaged 160.9p (-2.9p) and sold to 175p per kg for three Limousins from Whitehouse, Lumphanan all purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,248.20 gross for a 790kg Limousin from Whiteknowes, Craigievar to C. Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (67) averaged 160.4p (-6.5p) and sold to 177p per kg for a 595kg Charolais from Brucewells, Netherley to A. Bruce, Butcher, Fraserburgh and £1,203.50 gross for a 725kg Charolais from Darnabo, Fyvie to Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (eight) averaged 117p (nc) and sold to 139p per kg for a 560kg Limousin from Northfield, Hatton and £1,092 gross for a 840kg Charolais from Burnside of Gight, Methlick to C. Anderson.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (10) averaged 138.4p (+6.1p) and sold to 146p per kg for a 660kg Limousin from Mill of Meadaple, Rothienorman to C. Anderson and £1,055.70 gross for a 765kg Limousin from Berrytop, Netherley.
Heifers (19) averaged 132.1p (-5p) and sold to 154p per kg for a 630kg Limousin from Tarmair, Boyndlie and £1,158.30 gross for a 810kg Limousin from Seacrest, Huna to C. Anderson.

New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (206) averaged 158.2p per kg (-12.1p).
