THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (18th February) 142 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (48) averaged 156.2p (-7.8p) and sold to 169p per kg fpr a 700kg Limousin from Aldie Farm, Cruden Bay, and £1,309.80 gross for a 885kg Charolais from Lower Affleck, Whiterashes, and purchased by R Smith, Aberdeen.
Prime heifers (48) averaged 161.2p (-4.6p) and sold to 174p per kg for a 590kg Limousin from Boghouse, Tarves, and purchased by A Ingram, Drumblade, and £1,168 gross for a 800kg Limousin from Kepplestone Farm, Newmills.
Young bulls (six) averaged 155.3p (+1.5p) and sold to 167p per kg for a 660kg Charolais from Barnyards, Mintlaw, and £1,363.15 gross for a 995kg Simmental from Drumsleed, Fordoun, and purchased by R Smith.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (12) averaged 142.7p (+3.6p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 715kg Aberdeen-Angus, and £1,185.60 gross for a 780kg Charolais from Rattar Mains, Scarsferry, Thurso.
Heifers (28) averaged 144.9 p (+1.3p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 690kg Limousin from Whiteside, Tullynessle, and £1,258 gross for a 850kg Simmental from Mains of Gallery, Montrose.
