STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th February) sold 1,004 store cattle and three young calves.

Bullocks (499) averaged 180.8p (477.7kg) (+0.8p) and sold to 230.4p per kg for a 382kg Charolais cross from Drums, Newburgh and £1,175 gross for a 662kg Limousin cross from Groddie Farm, Logie Coldstone.
Heifers (495) averaged 173.8p (442kg) (+3.3p) and sold to 308.8p per kg and £1,550 gross for a 502kg Limousin cross from Groddie Farm.
Bulls (ten) averaged 154p (-2.3p) and sold to 230.5p per kg for a 226kg British Blue from Cairntack, Belhelvie and £820 gross for a 526kg Simmental from Ardioch, Keith.
Young calves (three) averaged £313 and sold to £320 gross.

Store lambs (840) to £86.50 for Suffolks from Standingstones, Dyce.
Ewe lambs (30) to £71.50 for Mules from Mapleview, Lumphanan.
Island lambs (75) to £77 for Beltex from Strathore, Shapinsay.
Breeding sheep (97) to £120 for 2 year old Mule ewes from Shantlerhill, Maud.
Feeding ewes (845) averaged £63.62 (- £2.06) to £142.50 for Suffolks from Wrae Farm, Turriff.
