PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (4th February 2010) 85 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (32) averaged 158.7p (-3.1p) and sold to 177p per kg for a 675kg Limousin from Middleton of Potterton, Potterton, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,408.75 gross for a 875kg Charolais from Windyedge Croft, Aberchirder.
Prime heifers (35) averaged 158p (-1.6p) and sold to 175p per kg for a 615kg Charolais, and £1,1166.10 gross for a 690kg Charolais from from South Mains of Balgaveny, Rothienorman, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (two) averaged 151.7p (+14.7p) and sold to 163p per kg for a 700kg Charolais, and £1,164.40 gross for a 820kg Charolais from Harestone Farm, Crathes.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (nine) averaged 154.1p (+16.4p) and sold to 159p per kg and £1,279.95 gross for a 805kg Charolais from Mosside of Gight, Fyvie.
Heifers (seven) averaged 152.8p (+8.6p) and sold to 159p per kg for a 615kg Limousin from Backhill of Thornton, Bourtie, and for a 765kg Limousin from Middleton of Potterton, and £1,238.80 gross for a 815kg Simmental from Suttie, Kintore.
