QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (August 16th) sold 5,872 ewe lambs and store lambs.
In the Barclay's Transport sponsored show and sale of ewe lambs champion single in the half-bred section judged by Mr G A Stephens, Pasture View Farm, Melton Mowbray was from Messrs D Miller, Buckies Farm, Thurso and sold for £255 to W J Jack and Sons, Woodend, Muir of Ord. Champion pen of 10 from Mrs J Sutherland, Overton, Mid-Clyth sold for £200 to the judge.
Champion single in the North Country Cheviot section from W & K Campbell, Mid-Calder and sold for £240 to A Gunn & Son, Upper Dounreay. Champion pen of 10 from J & J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, Watten sold for £142 to C Scott, Wester Biffie, Maud.
H B Ewe lambs (1,035) averaged £114.41 (+£26.35 on the year) and sold to £210 twice from Buckies Farm and Overton, Mid-Clyth.
Chev ewe lambs (613) averaged £81.53 (+£14.86) and sold to £160 from Mid-Calder.
HB wdr lambs (66) averaged £68.52 (+£11.18) and sold to £70 from A & T Rosie, Hunster, Bower.
Chev wdr lambs (1,089) averaged £57.98 (+£7.72) and sold to £72 twice from D & P Gunn, Borgie Mains and P Swanson, 19 Miller Place, Scrabster.
Texel, Suffolk and cross lambs (3,069) averaged £61.14 (+£8.24) and sold to £84 twice for Texel ewe lambs from J Cormack, Mains of Forse, Latheron and LleynX ewe lambs from W P & E Watson, Harpsdale Mains.
