STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (27th August) sold 682 store cattle and 14 young calves.
Bullocks (417) averaged 170.1p (+2.2) and sold to 205.4p per kg for 258kg Charolais crosses from Stonebriggs, Rosehearty and £1,135 gross for 756kg Charolais cross from Stonyford, Tarland and for a 656kg Limousin cross from Cornhill, Cullerlie.
Heifers (252) averaged 158.2p (-4.6p) and sold to 194.8p per kg and £970 gross for a 498kg British Blue cross from Finnygaud, Aberchirder.
Bulls (13) sold to 127.2p per kg and £870 gross for a 684kg Simmental from Eastaquoy, Harray.
Young and weaned calves (14) sold to £410 gross.
"Strong forward cattle were a good show and wanted. Yearlings were more mixed for quality".

Store lambs (1,350) to £76.50 for Suffolks from Pittenkerrie, Glassel.
Ewe lambs (47) to £89 for Texels from Newtonhill, Clatt.
Island sheep (197) to £130 for a Texel Ram from Haymount, Finstown.
Breeding gimmers and ewes (110) to £106 for a three year old Mules from Headrooms, Lonmay.
Feeding ewes and rams (658) averaged £55.79 (+£0.71) and sold to £115 for a Charollais Ram from Wester Duncanstone, Insch.
“Store lambs maintained recent keen rates. Feeding ewes sharper on the week.”
