PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (19th August 2010) 92 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (51) averaged 155.6 (+5.1p) and sold to 173p per kg for a 575kg Limousin from Pittenkerrie, Glassel to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,264.05 gross for a 795kg Charolais from Muirhill, Longhaven.
Prime heifers (28) averaged 155.9p (-1.1p) and sold to 177p per kg for a 515kg Charolais from Caskieben, Kinellar to Westend Butchers, Peterhead and £1,057 gross for a 700kg Charolais from Muirhill, Longhaven.
Young bulls (eight) averaged 134.4p and sold to154p per kg for a 700kg Charolais and £1,057 gross for a 710kg Charolais from Burnside of Gight, Methlick.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (one) sold to 127p per kg and £1,054.10 gross for a 830kg Charolais from Caskieben, Kinellar.
Heifers (four) averaged 128.6p (-4.0p) and sold to 139p per kg and £1,042.50 gross for a 750kg British Blue from Whitehouse, Lumphanan.

Beef cows (108) averaged 114.3p (+2.6p) and sold to 149.2p per kg for a 600kg British Blue from Dunscroft, Huntly and £1,195 gross for a 850kg Charolais from Round Lightnot, Oldmeldrum.
Dairy cows (14) averaged 71.6p and sold to 82.7p per kg and £695 gross for a 840kg Friesian from Monyruy Dairy, Longside.
Farrow bulls (seven) averaged 81.1p (-0.6p) and sold to 95.2p per kg and £1,095 gross for a 1,150kg Charolais from Savoch, Longside.

New season lambs (1,139) averaged 157p per kg (-11.9p) and sold to 174.4p per kg for 41kg Texels from Newton of Tulloch, St Katherines and £79.50 gross for 51kg Continentals from South Litterty, Turriff.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (825) averaged 159.5p per kg (- 13.9p).
