PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (12th August) 99 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (30) averaged 150.5p (-4.5p) and sold to 175p per kg for a 595kg Limousin from Whiteside, Tullynessle, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,295.85 gross for a 795kg Charolais from Huntly Lodge Farm, Huntly.
Prime heifers (34) averaged 157p (+1.2p) and sold to 180p per kg for a 615kg Charolais from Darnabo, Fyvie, and purchased by Bruce of the Broch, Fraserburgh, and £1,137.15 gross for a 665kg Charolais also from Darnabo, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (22) averaged 136.3p (-2.6p) and sold to 147p per kg for a 715k Simmental from Caskieben, Kinellar, and £1,137.60 gross for a 790kg Charolais from Mains of Gallery, Montrose.
Heifers (13) averaged 132.6p (+5.4p) and sold to 162p per kg and £1,004.40 gross for a 620kg Blonde d'Aquitaine from Concraig Dairy, Bucksburn.

Beef cows (200) averaged 111.7p (+5.5p) and sold to 142p per kg for a 715kg Limousin from Leschangie Lodge, Kemnay and £1,165 gross for a 870kg Simmental from Ackergill Mains, Wick.
Dairy cows (six) sold to 95.8p per kg and £685 gross for a 715kg Friesian from Upper Braiklay, Methlick.
Farrow bulls (five) averaged 81.7p (+2.0p) and sold to 91p per kg for a 775kg Aberdeen Angus from Haymount, Finstown and £875 gross for a 1,080kg Charolais from Cluny Home Farms, Sauchen.
