PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th August 2010) 50 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (19) averaged 154.9p (+6.1p) and sold to 164p per kg for a 660kg Simmental and for a 705kg Charolais from Caskieben, Kinellar to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,199.45 gross for a 805kg Simmental also from Caskieben to C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (20) averaged 155.8p (+1.2p) and sold to174p per kg for a 525kg Limousin from Caskieben to Westend Butchers, Peterhead and £1,102.30 gross for a 730kg Charolais from North Lurg, Midmar.
Young bulls (four) averaged 117.3p to 131p per kilo for a 745kg Charolais and £1,043.20 gross for a 815kg Charolais from Burnside of Gight, Methlick.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (four) averaged 138.9p and sold to 142p per kg and £972.70 gross for a 685kg Aberdeen Angus from Mosshead of Aquithie, Kemnay.
Heifers (three) averaged 127.2p and sold to 147p per kg and £984.90 gross for a 670kg Limousin from Clifftop, Pennan to C Anderson.

Beef cows (146) averaged 106.2p (-0.9p) and sold to 147.9p per kg for a 720kg Limousin from Shiel, Muir of Fowlis and for a 700kg British Blue from Redbanks, Tankerness and £1,065 gross for a 845kg Limousin from Culfork, Alford and for a 720kg Limousin from Shiel, Alford.
Dairy cows (five) averaged 72.3p (-9.0p) and sold to 77.2p per kg and £645gross for a 835kg Friesian from Fairburn, Longmanhill.
Farrow bulls (11) averaged 79.7p (-2.2p) and sold to 107.6p per kg for a 720kg British Blue from Culdrain Lodge, Gartly and £895 gross for a 1,060kg Aberdeen Angus from South Balkeith, Tain.

New season lambs (654) averaged 168p per kg (+ 5.6p) and sold to 182.1p per kg for 39kg Texels from Auchnavaird, Auchnagatt and £84 gross for 56kg Texels from Denside, Auchenblae.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (498) averaged 171.8p per kg (+6.2p).
