PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (22nd April) 72 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (32) averaged 158.9p (+1.2p) and sold to 171p per kg for a 680kg British Blue from East Futtie, Lumphanan, and purchased by Woodhead Bros, Turriff, and £1,255.50 gross for a 810kg Charolais from Faichfolds, King Edward, and purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen.
Prime heifers (29) averaged 161.6p (+0.9p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 530kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm, Torphins, and £1,350.50 gross for a 925kg Charolais from Hillocks, Whiterashes.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (two) averaged 154.8p (+13.3p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 710kg Limousin and £1,155 gross for a 770kg Limousin from Faichfolds.
Heifers (nine) averaged 145.8p (+7.7p) and sold to 160p per kg and £1,160 gross for a 725kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm.

Beef cows (112) averaged 122.2p (+7.5p) and sold to 157.3p per kg for a 550kg British Blonde from Braebuster, Deerness and £1,265 gross for a 970kg Charolais from Sootywells, Fordoun and for a 870kg Charolais from Wester Craiglands, Fortrose.
Dairy cows (seven) averaged 103.2 (+5.2p) and sold to 126.3p per kg for a 685kg Friesain and £875 gross for a 880kg Friesian both from Upper Braiklay, Methlick.
Farrow bulls (four) averaged 109.7p (+1.6p) and sold to 123p per kg for a 1,175kg Charolais from East Kincraigie, Lumphanan and £1,445 gross for the 1,175kg Charolais from East Kincraigie and for a 1,200kg Charolais from Mains of Newton, Craigellachie.

Old season lambs (2,788) averaged 193p per kg (+1.3p) and sold to 221.3p per kg for 40kg Cheviots from Brangan, Boyndie and £96 gross for 58kg Continentals from South Keithney, Burnhervie.
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (1,919) averaged 201.1p per kg (+6.4p).
