PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (15th April) 67 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (20) averaged 157.7p (+5.1p) and sold to 167p per kg for a 690kg Charolais from Sunhoney, Echt, and for a 725kg Blonde d’Aquitaine from Wester Beltie, Torphins, and £1,216.35 gross for a 765kg Simmental from Tavelty Farms, Kintore.
Prime heifers (24) averaged 160.7p (+8.5p) and sold to 172p per kg for a 580kg British Blue from Whiteside, Tullynessle, and purchased by J Mather, Kelso, and  £1,032 gross for a 645kg Limousin from Whiteknowes, Craigievar, and purchased by Dunbia, Elgin.
Young bulls (four) averaged 130.4p (-12.8p) and sold to 159p per kg for a 630kg Limousin from Uppermill Farms, Kintore, and £1,259.60 gross for a 940kg Charolais from Mains of Elrick, Auchnagatt.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (13) averaged 141.5p (+0.7p) and sold to 148p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Home Farm Drum, Drumoak, and £1,323.10 gross for a 1,010kg Simmental from West Balthangie, Cuminestown.
Heifers (six) averaged 138.1p (+4.4) and sold to 146p per kg for a 570kg Charolais from Newton of Drum, Drumoak, and £877.20 gross for a 680kg Charolais from Ballarat, Harray.

Beef cows (79) averaged 114.7p (-3.2p) and sold to 150p per kg for a 670kg Limousin from West Knock, Stuartfield and £1,165 gross for a 920kg Charolais from Nistaben, Harray. 
Dairy cows (17) averaged 98p (+0.2p) and sold to 119.1p per kg for a 550kg Friesian from Howe, Stromness and £775 gross for a 780kg Friesian from Monyruy Dairy, Longside. 
Farrow bulls (six) averaged 108.1p (-6.2p) and sold to 121.2p per kg for a 1,060kg Aberdeen Angus from, Blackpark, Watten and £1,285 gross for the Aberdeen Angus from Blackpark, Watten and for a 1,310kg Simmental from Haremoss, Cuminestown.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (15th April) sold 3,556 prime sheep.

New season lambs (seven) averaged 190p per kg and sold to 204.5p per kg for 44kg Charolais and £94 gross for 52kg Charolais from Crichneylade Cottage, St Katherines.
Old season lambs (3,549) averaged 191.7p per kg and sold to 206.6p per kg for Beltex from Mosside of Gight, Fyvie and £96 gross for 60kg Suffolks from Braeside, Tough.
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (2,789) averaged 194.7p per kg.
