PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (1st April) sold 54 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (17) averaged 155p (+1.8p) and sold to 167p per kg for a 660kg Limousin from Caskieben, Kinellar, purchased by Rhinds of Elgin and £1,256 gross for a 800kg Simmental from Caskieben.
Prime heifers (30) averaged 158p (-0.4p) and sold to 168p per kg for a 570kg Limousin from Hillocks, Whiterashes and £1,051.35 gross for a 645kg Charolais from Caskieben, purchased by Rhinds of Elgin.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (three) averaged 136p (+1p) and sold to 145p per kg and £1,073 gross.
Heifers (four) averaged 139p (-1.6p) and sold to 144p per kg and £928.80 gross.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (1st April) sold 82 OTM cattle.
Beef cows (67) averaged 120.8p (+1.1p) and sold to 141.4p per kg for a 640kg Charolais from Airdlin Mains, Ythanbank and £1,045 gross for a 805kg British Blue from Bowbutts, Strachan.
Dairy cows (eight) averaged 111.3p (n/c) and sold to 117.2p per kg for a 670kg Friesian and £885 gross for a 770kg Friesian from 4 Sibster, Wick.
Farrow bulls (seven) averaged 116.3p (+7.8p) and sold to 137.3p per kg and £1,455 gross for a 1,060kg Limousin from Bishopston, Portlethen.
