SHEEP SALES - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (23rd September) sold 6971 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.
Ewe lambs (558) to £95 for Mules from Mill of Fowlis, Muir of Fowlis.
Store lambs (1867) to £60 for Texels from Burn of Pheppie, Muchalls.
Breeding sheep (1608) to £160 for Pure Blueface Leicester gimmers from North Lurg, Midmar and for a Suffolk 2 shear ram from Mains of Clackriach, Maud.
Island sheep (2210) to £120 for Shetland Cheviot Gimmers from Rona, Ollaberry.
Feeding ewes (728) averaged £39.88 (-£8.37) to £85.50 for Texels from Wester Manbeen Farm Cottage, Elgin.
“Store lambs easily maintained recent keen rates. Quality gimmers also met good sound trade. Feeding ewes were easier on the week”
