BREEDING CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (27th October) sold 667 head of adult breeding cattle including nine bulls.
At the Annual show and sale of spring calving heifers and breeding cattle sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health Champion single heifer was a Blue Limousin Cross from Harry Emslie Farmers Ltd, Brae of Coynach, Mintlaw which realised £3400 to Mr John Smith, The Rowans, Brora. Champion pair of heifers were Simmental Crosses from J. Dow, South Lasts, Culter which sold at £1600 to the judge Mr John Steven, West Denside, Monikie, Broughty Ferry.
"Overall a good selection of in calf heifers met a first class demand throughout. Heifers and cows with calves were keenly sought after".
