PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (14th May) 166 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (90) averaged 163p (+2.0p) and sold to 185p per kg for a 700kg Limousin from Sunhoney, Echt, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,386 gross for a 840kg Charolais from Little Aucheoch, Maud, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (43) averaged 160p (n.c) and sold to 180p per kg for a 545kg Limousin purchased by Woodhead Brothers, and for a 500kg Limousin purchased by Bruce of the Broch, both from Waterside, Forbes, and £1,148 gross for a 700kg Charolais from Mill of Buckie, Buckie.
Young bulls (seven) averaged 146p (+2.0p) and sold to 157p per kg for a 590kg Charolais from Overhall, Premnay, and £1,255.80 gross for a 910kg Charolais from Aimster, Thurso, and both purchased by R Smith, Aberdeen.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (12) averaged 139p (-11p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 615kg Charolais, and £1,232.80 gross for a 920kg Charolais, both from Crowtaing, Longhope.
Heifers (14) averaged 140p (-5p) and sold to 152p per kg for a 595kg Charolais from Cooperhill, Forglen, and £1,102.60 gross for a 745kg Limousin from Cornhill, Cullerlie.

Old season lambs (1639) averaged 169p per kg (-21p) and sold to 196p per kg for 45kg Texels from Caiesmill, Kinellar, and £90 gross for 50kg Texels from Nether Woodside, Cullerlie.
