Heifers (1158) averaged 179.1p (-1.3p) to 312.2p per kg for a pen of 474kg Simmental crosses and £1,550 gross for a pair of 543kg Simmental cross from Connachie, Kellas
Bulls (79) averaged 139p (-21p) to 203.7p per kg for a 270kg Charolais cross from Home Farm Cluny and £905 gross for a 592kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Rattar Mains, Scarfskerry.
Young calves (one) to £380.

Fodder
Overall Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 480 bales. Inside straw sold to £5 per bale to average £4.80. Haylage sold at £12.40 per bale. Silage sold to £10 per bale to average £7.10.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (8th May) sold 2,646 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.
Store lambs (125) to £99 for Suffolks from Mid Mains of Balfour, Fettercairn.
Ewe lambs (11) to £70 for Lleyns from Evergreen, Kininmonth.
Island lambs (103) to £74 for Texels from East House, Holm.
Ewes with lambs (1,636) to £68 for Mule hoggs with singles from Bogiebrae, Rhynie.
Feeding ewes and rams (782) averaged £65.65 (+£7.08) to £120 for a Suffolk tup from North Essie, St Fergus.
“A strong show of ewes with lambs at foot met an exceptional trade. Feeding ewes also dearer on the week”.
