THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (7th May) 102 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (45) averaged 161p (-5.0p) and sold to 184p per kg for a 530kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, and £1,335.10 gross for a 790kg Charolais from Mormond View, Ardallie, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (38) averaged 160p (-7.0p) and sold to 174p per kg for a 525kg Charolais from Whiteside, Tullynessle, and purchased by Bruce of the Broch, Fraserburgh and £1,134 gross for a 675kg Limousin from Cofeidly, Glassel, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (four) averaged 144p (-10.0p) and sold to 165p per kg and £1,229.25 gross for a 745kg Blonde from Whitefield House, Forglen, and purchased by C Anderson.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (four) averaged 150p (+2.0p) and sold to 157p per kg and £1,138.25 gross for a 725kg Limousin from Leys Hotel, Kinellar.
Heifers (11) averaged 145p (nc) and sold to 157p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Shadowside, Inverurie, and £1,067.60 gross for a 680kg Charolais from Mill of Buckie, Buckie.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (7th May) sold 1100 prime lambs.
New season lambs (123) averaged 195p per kg and sold to 346.2p per kg and £180 gross for 52kg Suffolks from Mains of Tollo, Turriff.
Old season lambs (977) averaged 190p per kg (+24p) and sold to 206.3p per kg for 40kg Charollais from Meikle Haddo and £96 gross for 54kg Texels from South Bodiechell, Fyvie.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (46) averaged 212.9p per kg.
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (688) averaged 196.9p per kg (+26.8p).
Aberdeen and Northern Marts held their annual show and sale of Suffolk lambs in conjunction with the North East of Scotland Suffolk Sheep Club. There were 40 pairs forward with Allan Carr of ABC Quality Meats, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire as the Judge.
Champion pen of lambs was awarded to C A Proctor & Co, Mains of Tollo, Turriff for a pair of 52kg pure bred Suffolk’s realising £180 per head and 346.2p per kg to the Judge. Reserve pen was a pair of 54kg pure bred Suffolk’s H. Stuart & Son, Davishill, Udny which realised £105 per head.
