BREEDING CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (6th May) sold 393 head of adult breeding cattle including eight bulls.
At the East Coast Viners sponsored show and sale of commercial beef breeding cattle, judge Mark Munro, Kincardine Lodge, Ardgay awarded the Championship to a Limousin cross heifer with Limousin bull calf from Sheep Park, Bridge of Marnoch which realised £2,700. The Reserve Championship award went to a Limousin heifer with a Limousin bull calf at foot from Greenhaugh, Huntly which sold for £3,100. Top Simmental sired heifer with Limousin calf at foot from Auchtygall, Peterhead sold at £2,600. Top price and a new record of £6000 was paid for a Charolais cross heifer with a pure Limousin bull calf at foot from Harry Emslie Farmers Limited, Brae of Coynach, Mintlaw.
