PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (26th March) 104 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (33) averaged 162p (+3.0p)  and sold to 177p per kg for a 675kg Blonde d’Aquitaine from Faichfolds, King Edward and £1,368.90 gross for a 810kg Limousin from 4 Kirkview, Lumphanan, both purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (48) averaged 160.7p (+7.5p)  and sold to 183p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Cowiehillock, Echt, and  £1,276 gross for a Blonde d’Aquitaine from Freefield House, Old Rayne, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff.
Young bulls (one) sold to 152p per kg and £950 gross for a 625kg Aberdeen-Angus from Conrock Farm, and purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (six) averaged 158p (+9p) and sold to 166p per kg for a 735kg Limousin and £1,271.70 gross for a 785kg Charolais from Montgrew, Keith.
Heifers (16) averaged 149.2p (+5.1p) and sold to 164p per kg for a 435kg Simmental from Sibmister, Castletown, and for a 635kg Limousin from Lythmore, Bridge of Westfield, and  £1,208.40 gross for a 795kg Simmental from Culhay, Alford.
