PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (19th March) prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (43) averaged 159p  and sold to 176p per kg for a 625kg Charolais from Whitehouse, Lumphanan to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,260 gross for a 720kg Charolais from Lower Affleck, Whiterashes to Woodhead Brothers. 
Prime heifers (46) averaged 153.2p  and sold to 167p per kg for a 500kg Limousin from Whitehouse, Lumphanan to Westend Butchers, Peterhead and £1,014 gross for a 670kg Charolais from Mill of Buckie, Buckie.
Young bulls (four) averaged 142.8p and sold to 160p per kg for a 610kg Charolais Barnyards, Mintlaw and £1,518.40 gross for a 1,040kg Aberdeen Angus from Blelack, Dinnet to C Anderson, Dumfries.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (seven) averaged 149p  and sold to 161p per kg and £1,231.65 gross for a 765kg Charolais from Bogside, St Katherines to C Anderson.
Heifers (19) averaged 144.1p and sold to 154p per kg for a 530kg Aberdeen Angus from Suquoy, South Ronaldsay and for a 615kg Charolais from Cooperhill, Forglen and £1,036.60 gross for a 710kg Limousin from Netherton Farm, Forres to C Anderson.

Beef cows (79) averaged 124.3p (-2.8p) and sold to 157.9p per kg for a 725kg Limousin from Woodhead of Cairnbanno, New Deer and £1,185gross for a 825kg Limousin from Killyquharn, New Aberdour. 
Dairy cows (12) averaged 105.9p (+3.5p) and sold to 118.7p per kg and £895 gross for a 835kg Friesian from 4 Sibster, Wick. 
Farrow bulls (9) averaged 109.2p (+4.4p) and sold to 120.5p per kg for a 1,025kg Aberdeen Angus from Newton of Mountblairy, Banff and £1,375 gross for a 1,180kg Charolais from Cottown, Rhynie.

PRIME SHEEP - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (19th March) sold 2411 prime sheep.

Old season lambs (2411) averaged 174.9p per kg (+3.1p) and sold to 192.3p per kg for 39kg Texels from Easthill of Crimond, Keithhall and for a 52kg Continental from Home Farm, Aberlour which also realised £100 gross.
SQQ up to 45.5kg (1673) averaged 179.6p per kg (+4.4p).
