PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (11th June) 138 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (57) averaged 171p (+1.0p) and sold to 186p per kg for a 635kg Limousin from Kirkhill, Gartly, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,479 gross for a 870kg Charolais from Tillyorn, Corse, and purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen.
Prime heifers (66) averaged 171p (+2.0p) and sold to 198p per kg and £1,277.10 gross for a 645kg British Blue from Whiteside, Tullynessle.
Young bulls (one) sold to 165p per kg and £1,155 gross for a 700kg Aberdeen-Angus from Harestone, Crathes, and purchased by Raymond Smith.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (10) averaged 153p (+16.0p) and sold to 161p per kg for a 605kg Limousin from Montgrew, Keith, and £1,346.40 gross for a 880kg Charolais from Dunrovin, Maud.
Heifers (four) averaged 153p (+15.0p) and sold to 165p per kg for a 610kg Limousin from Farmton, Tough, and £1,036.35 gross for a 705kg Aberdeen-Angus from Mosshead, Aquithie.

New season lambs (156) averaged 179p per kg (-12p) and sold to 198p per kg  for 44kg Continentals from Chapel of Elrick, Newmachar and £92 gross for 62kg Texels from Burnside, Newmachar.
Old season lambs (151) averaged 133p per kg and sold to 150p per kg and £78 gross for 52kg Suffolks from Montgrew, Keith.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (103) averaged 187.5p per kg (-11.5p).
