STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th June) sold 268 store cattle and one young calf.

Bullocks (119) averaged 172p (-4p) to 220p per kg for a 300kg Limousin cross from 9 Lochussie, Conon Bridge and £830 gross for a pair of 457kg Charolais from Kinclune, Glenkindie.
Heifers (109) averaged 165p (-10p) to 214.3p per kg for 231kg Simmental cross from Kinbroon, Rothienorman and £790 gross for a pair of 454kg British Blue cross from Home Farm, Fetteresso .
Bulls (40) averaged 162p (-2p) to 187p per kg for a 345kg Charolais cross from Wallfield, Lochills and £930 gross for a pair of 665kg Simmental cross from Muirden of Cranna, Aberchirder.
Young and weaned calves (one) sold to £370 gross.

STORE SHEEP - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th June) sold 1,205 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.

New season store lambs to £91.50 for Suffolks from Wrae Farm, Turriff.
Old season store lambs (265) to £72.50 for Cheviots from Wardfold Farm, Fetternear.
Island lambs (13) to £60.50 for Cheviots from Redbanks, Tankerness.
Ewes and lambs (322) to £59 for for Mule gimmers with lamb and a half from Newton of Edingight, Grange.
Feeding ewes (605) averaged £56.54 (-£5.66) to £110.50 for Suffolks from Stonyford, Tarland.

“A smaller entry of ewes with lambs met a firmer trade. Feeding ewes slightly easier on the week. “
