PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (4th June) 109 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (54) averaged 170p (+7.7p) and sold to 189p per kg for a 645kg Limousin and a 545kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud, and purchased by A W Herd and Sons, Aberdeen,  and £1,330 gross for a 875kg Simmental from 4 Kirkview Lumphanan and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (29) averaged 169p (+7.8p) and sold to 186p per kg for a 565kg Limousin from Hillhead of Barra, Inverurie, and purchased by Bruce of the Broch, and £1,189 gross for a 725kg Limousin from Shadowside, Inverurie.
Young bulls (six) averaged 151p (+7p) and sold to 168p per kg for a 745kg Simmental from Nethermill, Cruden Bay, and purchased by C Anderson, and £1,341 gross for a 900kg Charolais from Kinclune, Glenkindie.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (six) averaged 137p (-14p) and sold to 153p per kg and £1,147.50 gross for a 750kg Limousin from Derbeth, Kingswells.
Heifers (14) averaged 138p (-4.7p) and sold to 148p per kg and £1,139.60 gross for a 770kg Simmental from Nethermill, Cruden Bay.

New season lambs (128) averaged 191p per kg (-11p) and sold to 207p per kg  for 43kg Suffolks from Biffie, Old Deer and £96 gross for 52kg Texels from Culhay, Alford.
Old season lambs (191) averaged 147p per kg and sold to 161.2p per kg for 49kg Texels from Pitfoskie, Maud and £83.50 gross for 56kg Texels from Auchmaddies, Boharm.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (70) averaged 199p per kg (-6.7p).
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (95) averaged 151.8p per kg.
