THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (2nd July) sold 115 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (42) averaged 165p (-4.7p) and sold to 185p per kg for a 545kg Limousin from Waterside, Forbes and £1418.60 gross for a 865kg Charolais from Mill of Haulkerton, Laurencekirk purchased by C. Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (42) averaged 161p (-4.1p) and sold to 173p per kg for a 595kg Limousin from New Mains, Glenkindie purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen, a 720kg Charolais from Mill of Haulkerton, a 600kg Limousin from Mains of Tertowie, Kinellar and £1245.60 gross for a 720kg Charolais from Mill of Haulkerton.
Young bulls (18) averaged 157p (+25.3p) and sold to 168p per kg for a 800kg Charolais from Burnside of Gight, Gight purchased by Raymond Smith and £1388.40 gross for a 890kg Simmental from Drumsleed, Fordoun.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (five) averaged 150p (+15.7p) and sold to 156p per kg and £1287 gross for a 825kg Limousin from Wester Campfield, Glassel purchased by Raymond Smith.
Heifers (eight) averaged 142p (+13p) and sold to 157p per kg for a 665kg Limousin from Davo Mains, Laurencekirk and £1146.60 gross for a 735kg Limousin from Waterside.
