PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (26th February) 60 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (19) averaged 165.7p (+3.7p) and sold to 174p per kg for a 715kg Charolais from Lower Affleck, Whiterashes to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,426.80 gross for a 870kg Blonde D' Aquitaine from 4 Kirkview, Lumphanan to R Smith, Aberdeen. 
Prime heifers (24) averaged 163.6p (+1.1p) and sold to 180p per kg for a 545kg Limousin from Cranna, Rothienorman and  £1,394.40 gross for a 840kg Charolais from Culfoichmore, Grantown on Spey to C Anderson, Dumfries.
Young bulls (one) sold to 179p per kg and £1,494.65 gross for a 835kg Blonde D' Aquitaine from Whitefield House, Forglen to R Smith.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (three) averaged 149.2p (-3.7p) and sold to 156p per kg and £1,232.40 gross for a 790kg Simmental from Mill of Haulkerton, Laurencekirk to R Smith.
Heifers (13) averaged 147p (-6.3p) and sold to 158p per kg and £1,192.90 gross for a 755kg Charolais from Hillside, Fetternear.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (26th February) 164 OTM Cattle.

Beef cows (139) averaged 122.2p (-3.8p) and sold to 150.4p per kg for a 635kg Limousin from Knockothie House, Ellon and £1,235 gross for a 890kg Blonde D' Aquitaine from Freefield House, Old Rayne and for a 900kg Simmental from Redhill, Rothiemay. 
Dairy cows (8) averaged 100.6p (+5.9p) and sold to 112.4p per kg and £955 gross for a 850kg Friesian from Hillhead of Muirton, Whitecairns. 
Farrow bulls (17) averaged 104.7p (+4.5p) and sold to 132.4p per kg for a 910kg Limousin from Clashnoir, Auchnarrow and £1,245 gross for a 960kg Limousin from Castle Grant Home Farm, Grantown on Spey.

Old season lambs (1777) averaged 168.7p per kg (-5.1p) and sold to 184.6p per kg for 39kg Continentals from Mains of Craighall, Gartly, and £83.50 gross for 52kg Texels and 55kg Suffolks from Darnford, Durris.
SQQ up to 45.5kg (1308) averaged 172.6p per kg (-2.7p).
