PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (19th February) 99 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (31) averaged 162p (+0.9p) and sold to 177p per kg and £1,283.25 gross for a 725kg British Blue from Faichfolds, King Edward, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff. 
Prime heifers (52) averaged 162.5p (+3.6p) and sold to 181p per kg for a 460kg Limousin from Brucewells, Netherley, and purchased by West End Butchers, Peterhead, and  £1,262.90 gross for a 730kg Limousin from Seggiecrook, Grange, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (one) sold to 117p per kg and £924.30 gross for a 790kg Limousin from Redhouse Farms, Oldmeldrum, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (eight) averaged 152.9p (-1.0p) and sold to 169p per kg for a 625kg Charolais from Milton of Philorth, Fraserburgh, and £1,271.40 gross for a 780kg Charolais from Kinglasser, Fraserburgh.
Heifers (seven) averaged 153.3p (+9.1p) and sold to 164p per kg for a 665kg Limousin from Quarryhead, Rosehearty, and  £1,124.20 gross for a 730kg Simmental from Towiemore, Keith.

Beef cows (214) averaged 126p (+9.6p) and sold to 160.5p per kg for a 645kg Charolais from Clashendamer, Fordyce and £1,255 gross for a 860kg Charolais from Gordonstown, Torphins.
Dairy cows (eight) averaged 94.7p (+18.5p) and sold to 116.7p per kg for a 630kg Ayreshire from Delnabo, Glengairn and £875 gross for a 800kg Friesian from Netherton, New Pitsligo. 
Farrow bulls (nine) averaged 100.2p (+12.8p) and sold to 119.3p per kg for a 1,060kg Limousin from Hurtiso, Holm and £1,305 gross for a 1,235kg Charolais from Gordonstown, Torphins.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (19th February) sold 1994 prime sheep.

Old season lambs (1994) averaged 173.8p per kg (+2.9p) and sold to 187.5p per kg for 40kg Suffolks from Greenhaugh, Huntly and £86 gross for 60kg Suffolks from Newbigging, Chapel of Garioch.
SQQ up to 45.5kg (1740) averaged 175.3p per kg (+0.8p).
