THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (12th February) 107 prime cattle.
Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (27) averaged 161.1p (-3.1p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 635kg Charolais from Whitehouse Farm, Lumphanan, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, and £1,377.60 gross for a 840kg Charolais from Tillyorn, Corse, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (30) averaged 158.9p (-4.1p) and sold to 175p per kg and £1,137.50 gross for 650kg Limousin from Milton of Campfield, Glassel, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Young bulls (seven) averaged 151.8p (+28.5p) and sold to 167p per kg for a 630kg Limousin from West Bruntland, Alves and purchased by C Anderson, and £1,396.75 gross for a 925kg Charolais from Harestone Farm, Crathes, and purchased by R Smith, Aberdeen.
30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (seven) averaged 153.9p (+17.4p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 730kg Charolais from Mill of Haulkerton, Laurencekirk, and £1,287.60 gross for a 870kg Aberdeen-Angus from Adziel, Strichen.
Heifers (36) averaged 143.9p (+17.1p) and sold to 160p per kg for a 690kg British Blue from Dunscroft, Huntly, and £1,177.80 gross for a 755kg Simmental from Easter Tulloch, Laurencekirk.
