THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (6th February) sold 618 store cattle.

Bullocks (280) averaged 174.2p (-0.3p) to 202.2p per kg for a 450kg Charolais from Allancreich, Ballogie and £1,220 gross for a 752kg Charolais from Deskie Farm, Glenlivet.
Heifers (323) averaged 167.2p (+1.3p) to 227.3p per kg for a 528kg Limousin from Groddie Farm, Logie Coldstone and £1,350 gross for a 612kg Limousin from Groddie Farm.
Bulls (15) averaged 155p (+2.7p) to 172.8p per kg for a 298kg Charolais from Pittenkerrie, Glassel and £800 gross for a 618kg Simmental from Sunnyhillview, Turriff.

Heifers sold to a top of 181.1p per kg for a pen of 345kg Charolais from Hunchaquoy and £960 gross for a 535kg Charolais from Dale, Stronsay.

Fodder
Overall Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 3,460 bales.  Inside barley straw sold to £9.60 to average £7.60.  Outside barley straw sold to £4. Hay sold to £21 per bale to average £16.80. Silage sold to £13 per bale to average £11.10.

Store lambs (896) to £71.50 for Mules from Shougle, Birnie.
Ewes with lambs (37) to £44 for 2 year old and whole mouth Texel ewes with lamb and a half from Auchtygall, Peterhead.
Ewe lambs (54) to £78 for Suffolks from Shougle.  
Island lambs (252) to £60 for Texels from Redbanks, Tankerness.
Feeding ewes (614) averaged £55.14 (+£10.44) to £98 for Suffolks from Kinnermit, Turriff.
