PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th February) 65 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (20) averaged 164.2p (+4.9p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 675kg Charolais from Caskieben, Caskieben and £1,272.80 gross for a 860kg Charolais from Tewel, Stonehaven to C Anderson, Dumfries. 
Prime heifers (27) averaged 163p (+9.9p) and sold to 186p per kg for a 480kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud to Westend Butchers, Peterhead and  £1,113.90 gross for a 705kg Limousin from Tewel, Stonehaven.
Young bulls (six) averaged 123p and sold to 133p per kg for a 535kg Limousin from Pitgersie, Newburgh and £818.40 gross for a 660kg Simmental from East Backburn, Netherley.

30 to 48 Month - Heifers (10) averaged 126.8p and sold to 152p per kg  for a 615kg Limousin from Home Farm of Auchry, Cuminestown and  £1,048.80 gross for a 920kg Simmental from Braigiewell, Echt, and purchased by C Anderson.
Bullocks (two) averaged 136.5p and sold to 138p per kg and £1,104 gross for a 800kg Charolais from Byameadow Farm, Twatt and purchased by C Anderson.

Beef cows (122) averaged 115p (+0.07p) and sold to 148.9p per kg for a 675kg Aberdeen Angus from Home Farm of Auchry, Cuminestown and £1,055 gross for a 835kg Limousin from Leitcheston, Enzie, Buckie.
Dairy cows (five) averaged 80.4p and sold to 97.9p per kg and £695 gross for a 710kg Friesian from Heatherhouse, Tankerness.
Farrow bulls (seven) averaged 82.6p and sold to 116.4p per kg for a Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud and £1,195 gross for a 1,080kg Limousin from Savoch, Lonmay.

Old season lambs (1073) averaged 167.8p per kg (+2.8p) and sold to 188.9p per kg for 45kg Texels from Veltigar, Tankerness and £90 gross for 65kg Texels from Bridgefoot Cottage, Kemnay.

SQQ up to 45.5kg (800) averaged 170.1p per kg (+3.3p).
