STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (24th April) sold 2411 store cattle and 19 young calves.
Bullocks (1286) averaged 194.2p (-0.5p) to 274.7p per kg for a pair of 233kg Limousin crosses from Overton, Fetternear and £1230 gross twice for a pair of 686kg Charolais crosses and a 706kg Simmental cross both from Deskie Farms, Glenlivet.
Heifers (1112) averaged 184.6p (-1.7p) to 235.6p per kg for a 382 kg Charolais cross from Housebay Farms, Stronsay and £1080 gross for a 552kg Simmental cross from Craiglethie, Grange.
Bulls (13) averaged 173.9p (-0.1p) to 208.3p per kg for a 240kg Charolais cross from Mains of Drumdollo, Drumblade and £910 gross for a 546kg Limousin cross from Strathend, Hatton.
Young calves (19) averaged £260 per head and £305 gross.
"With an excellent number forward trade continued at last weeks high rates".

STORE SHEEP - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (24th April) sold 2,756 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.
Store lambs (598) to £79 for Continentals from Knockandhu, Craigellachie.
Island lambs (44) to £64.50 for Half Breds from Sebay Farm, Tankerness.
Ewes with lambs (1,073) to £70 for Texel gimmers with singles from Ballochview, Grange.
Feeding ewes (1,041) averaged £60.91 (-£0.89) to £104 for Suffolks from Raemoir Avenue, Banchory.
“Ewes with lambs at foot were again very keenly sought after. Feeding ewes slightly easier on the week”.
