PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (23rd April) 92 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (38) averaged 160p (-7p) and sold to 179p per kg for a 585kg Aberdeen-Angus from St John’s Wells, Fyvie, and £1,311.40 gross for a 830kg Charolais from Hillhead of Barra, Inverurie, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (43) averaged 164p (+1p) and sold to 190p per kg for a 515 Limousin from Burnside, Whiterashes, and purchased by C Anderson, and  £1,152.40 gross for a 670kg Limousin from Whitehouse Farm, Lumphanan, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff.
Young bull (one) sold to 143p per kg and £1,215.50 gross for a 850kg Limousin from Shannas, Clola, and purchased by C Anderson.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (four) averaged 145p  (-8p)and sold to 147p per kg fpr a 750kg Limousin from 4 Kirkview, Lumphanan, and for a 755kg Charolais from South Keithney, and £1,128 gross for a 800kg Simmental from Lower Wanford, Banff.
Heifers (six) averaged 136p (-5p) and sold to 147p per kg for a 665kg Charolais Cross from Mill of Meadaple, Rothienorman, and  £1,102 gross for a 760kg Aberdeen-Angus from Mains of Tertowie, Kinellar.

OTM CATTLE - FULL REPORT

Beef cows (126) averaged 121.2p (-6.3p) and sold to 145.9p per kg  for a 675kg Limousin from Burnside, Whitecairns and £1,185 gross for a 880kg Limousin from Cloverycrook, Fyvie.  
Farrow bulls (five) averaged 96.3p (-6.2p) and sold to 121.2p per kg and £1,145 gross for a 945kg Charolais from Torgormack, Beauly.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (23rd April) sold 1942 prime sheep.

New season lambs (11) averaged 202p per kg and sold to 211.4p per kg for 44kg Suffolks from Bilboa, Daviot and £96 gross for 59kg Charolais from Crichneylade Cottage, St Katherines.
Old season lambs (1901) averaged 181.3p per kg (-6.4p) and sold to 193.9p per kg  for 41kg Shetland Cheviots from Ardfork, Oldmeldrum and £98.50 gross for 57kg Texels from Burnside of Dipple, Fochabers.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (4) averaged 211.4p per kg.
Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (1499) averaged 183.7p per kg (-12.9p).
