PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (16th April) 161 prime cattle.

Under 30 Month - Prime bullocks (61) averaged 167p (+5.7p) and sold to 182p per kg for a 705kg Charolais from Sunhoney, Echt, and for a 590kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud and £1,369.35 grossfor a 765kg Charolais from Mill of Haulkerton, Laurencekirk.
Prime heifers (58) averaged 163p (+3.9p) and sold to 186p per kg for a 565kg Limousin from Waterside, Forbes, Alford and  £1,256.70 gross for a 710kg Blonde D’Aquitaine from Freefield House, Old Rayne, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff.
Young bulls (nine) averaged 154p (-1.8p) and sold to 168p per kg for a 570kg Charolais from Harestone, Crathes, and £1,472 gross for a 920kg Limousin from Tillyorn, Corse, both purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.

30 to 48 Month - Bullocks (10) averaged 153p (+7.8p) and sold to 164p per kg and £1,312 gross for a 800kg Charolais from Montgrew, Keith.
Heifers (23) averaged 141p (-4.2p) and sold to 165p per kg for a 625kg Charolais from Shirralds Farm, Cullen, and  £1,192.60 gross for a 890kg Simmental from Nethermill, Cruden Bay.
