PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT:


THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (May 15th) 116 prime cattle, 241 and OTM cattle.


Prime bullocks (58) averaged 150.2p (-2.6p) and sold to 163p per kg for a 600kg Limousin from Faichfolds. King Edwards, and purchased by Rhinds of Elgin Limited, Elgin, and £1,268.40 gross for an 840kg Charolais from South Easterton, Hatton and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries. 

Prime heifers
(49) averaged 148.5p (-4.6p) and sold to 172p per kg for a 580kg Charolais from Brucewells, Netherley, purchased by Bruce of the Broch, Fraser burgh, and for a 525kg Belgian Blue from Whiteside, Tullynessle and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries, and  £1,147.60 gross for a 755kg Charolais from Whiteside.

Young bulls (nine) averaged 144.7p (+17.7p) and sold to 159p per kg for a 690kg Charolais from Ardiecow, Fordyce, and purchased by Raymond Smith, Aberdeen, and £1,147.30 gross for a 770kg Charolais from Blelack, Dinnet and purchased by C Anderson.


Beef cows (196) averaged 111.81p (-2.59p) and sold to 139.3p per kg for a 535kg Simmental from Mucklehouse, Swannay and £1,085 gross for a 830kg Limousin from Mains of Dellavaird, Auchenblae. 

Dairy cows
(three) averaged 95.25p (+0.81p) and sold to 98.6p per kg and £715 gross.

 
Farrow bulls (14) averaged 109.55p (+5.61p) and sold to 120.5p per kg for a 1,075kg Limousin from Seafield House, Lerwick and £1,365 gross for a 1,160kg Charolais from 2 West Watten, Watten. 

Heifers (18)
averaged 120.8p (+0.4p) and sold to 145.7p per kg for a 635kg Limousin from Conzie, Forgue and £1,025 gross for a 750kg Charolais from West Redhill, Rothienorman.

Steers (10) averaged 116.24p (-5.9p) to 138p per kg for a 685kg Limousin from Craskin, Tarland and £1,065 gross for a 810kg Simmental from Smiddyburn, Rothienorman.

Old season lambs (1,349) averaged 163.9p per kg (+13.7p) and sold to 186.3p per kg for 40 kg Cheviots from Airdlin Mains, Ythanbank  and £88.50 gross for 62kg Suffolks from Pitfoskie, Maud .


New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (73) averaged 194.3p per kg (+1.9p).


Old season SQQ up to 45.5kg (1,010) averaged 166.2p per kg (+12.6p).
