THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (21st March) sold 1,629 store cattle including 75 young farmers and 10 young calves


Bullocks (923) averaged 145.8p (-1.4p) to 177.6p per kg and £1100 gross.


Heifers (687) averaged 142.3p (+0.4p) to 209.1p per kg and £840 gross.


Bulls (19) averaged 132.1p (-7.7p) to 158.8p per kg and £570 gross.


Young calves (10) averaged 206.5p per head and £245 gross.

The company sold 1,550 bales. Inside Barley straw sold to £4 per bale to average £3.40. Outside Barley straw sold at £1 per bale to average 60p. Hay sold to £11 per bale to average £8.60. Silage sold to £7.80 per bale to average £6.80. Turnips sold at £32 per tonne. Feed Barley sold at £154 per tonne.

Ewes with Lambs (104) to £43 for Suffolk bm ewes with single lambs from Newseat of Badenscoth, Rothienorman.

Feeding ewes (1,284) averaged £52.50 (+£6.36) to £104 for Suffolks from Cadgerford, Kingswells.
